·         Highlight Dimensions and Specs

·         Decide Scale of drawings

·         Draw Berthing Study,     (basic drawing with given specs from scenario)

·         Draw Elevation Drawing,     (basic drawing with given specs from scenario)

·         Work out Radius,     (try and place centre of slew in position for least radius)

·         Work out Height needed from Elevation drawing

·         Work out Approx Gross weight of load and add 20%,     (eg. Net Load + estimate hook block + estimate accessories then add 20% which means when selecting your crane you will be working at 80% of it’s capacity in that configuration)

·         Decide crane from Load charts,     (check on drawings if it fits)

·         Roughly estimate crane size and general mat size to see if chosen crane would fit on berthing study

·         Once chosen Crane use rough paper to draw crane with dimensions

·         Add crane to chosen area on berth study

·         Add crane to Elevation Study,     (The centre of slew is eg. Up3 Back2)

·         Draw Load, (pick-up and lay down positions)

·         Draw Rigging Study (complete with working outs, side view and birds eye view)

·         Calculate Mat size after obtaining correct gross weight of load without the 20% FOS,     (add additional counterweight if not included in crane weight)

·         Fill In Page Legend with all relevant info:
